Youth Empowerment and Decent Work

Equipping young people with skills, enterprise pathways and voice in community decision-making.

About the Program

Young people in Nakuru County need skills that match emerging labour markets and space to lead. MAL supports vocational, digital and employability training alongside entrepreneurship and civic participation. Pathways to decent work include apprenticeships, mentorship, green jobs and protection from exploitation.

What We Do

  • Provide or facilitate vocational, technical, digital and employability skills relevant to local and emerging labour markets.
  • Support youth entrepreneurship, business incubation, mentorship, access to finance, markets and enterprise development services.
  • Facilitate career readiness, apprenticeships, internships, job linkages and pathways to safe, productive and decent work.
  • Promote youth participation in governance, civic engagement, community leadership, peacebuilding and decision-making.
  • Support youth-led innovation, climate enterprises, green jobs and other sustainable employment opportunities.
  • Promote awareness of workplace rights, occupational safety, fair opportunity and protection from exploitation.

Our Approach

We treat young people as development actors. Training is linked to mentorship and real pathways into work and leadership.
