Climate Change, Environment and Resilience

Helping communities adapt to climate shocks through restoration, preparedness and nature-based solutions.

About the Program

Drought, floods and degraded landscapes threaten livelihoods across Nakuru County. MAL supports climate adaptation, ecosystem restoration and community resilience planning. The focus is practical action communities can own—nurseries, restoration, preparedness and diversified livelihoods that reduce vulnerability.

What We Do

  • Promote climate adaptation and mitigation, disaster risk reduction, preparedness, anticipatory action and community resilience planning.
  • Support ecosystem restoration, tree growing, clean and renewable energy, nature-based solutions and climate information use.
  • Promote diversified livelihoods that reduce vulnerability to drought, floods, environmental degradation and socioeconomic shocks.

Our Approach

Local groups lead nursery care, planting and preparedness so environmental and resilience gains are maintained by the people who live with them.
